Next to the promenade of this climatic health resort is the "chemin des planches", one of the longest plank paths in Europe (2Km) with 409 wooden beach cabins along it.

On many beaches of the French English Channel there are sometimes very chic bathing houses.
It used to be considered good manners to protect oneself from the looks of others and to change clothes in the bathhouse after a swim in the sea.
But there are other advantages: after a fresh swim in the sea, it is more pleasant to change into dry clothes without sand.
The architecture of the bathhouses is more than just a function, the play of colours, decorations and shapes is pleasing to the eye and always provides good photo opportunities

Cayeux-sur-Mer beach is well known for its hundreds of colorful wooden beach huts. An estimate speaks of about 300 beach cabins, all neatly lined up. They all have a wooden deck and a nameplate (one more original than the other).
