The palace was built in 1958 as a showcase of soviet ability. It copies the style of Versailles with some soviet style architecture. The meeting hall was the place where today president Ramon was elected after the peace agreement. Coming from the south he chose this place in the prosperous and powerful north to get elected. It´s worth a visit although there is no explanation in English. Just ask some people, the will tell you something about the palace.
