Located off the coast between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Ilhabela, at 340 square kilometers, is the largest Brazilian island in the Atlantic. Its white sand beaches, lush rainforest, and imposing mountain peaks make Ilhabela an incredible destination for a Brazilian vacation.
In the past, Ilhabela served as a refuge for English pirates, who anchored on its long sandy beaches. Today, the island has about 35,000 inhabitants, and every year, especially between late December and mid-February, hundreds of thousands of tourists visit Ilhabela.
