The twelve meter high Heinturm was built on the Heinberg in 1430 as a waiting tower. It says in the charter that “a guard should sit on the tower day and night”. The tower made its last "big appearance" during the Battle of Warburg on July 31, 1760. The French troops had failed to occupy the Heinberg. A surprising flank attack by Allied troops was possible, which then decided the battle during the Seven Years' War.
