The Cathedral of Palencia is dedicated to San Antolín, patron saint of the city of Palencia. Popularly known as 'the unknown beauty', it was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1929. The current Palencia Cathedral, in Gothic style, stands on a previous Romanesque construction, of which only a few remains remain.
