The church was built at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries, using the remains of a Romanesque building from the 13th century. In 1648, two side chapels were added. Approx. half. the facade was crowned with a high, gothic-renaissance stepped gable. In the years 1904-1905, the old presbytery was demolished and a new one was erected in its place. Renovated in 1970 by Stanisław and Teodor Szukała.
Around the church there are tombstones of the Chłapowski family. General Dezydery Chłapowski and his father, Józef Chłapowski, rest in the family tomb.
