The history of a parish in Untersambach is largely unclear. The age of some of the furnishings speaks for the construction of a place of worship, at the latest in the 16th century. However, the location and whereabouts of the church are not mentioned in the sources. Only in the second half of the 18th century is there a place of worship in Untersambach. Around 1771, probably a few years earlier, the little church that still exists today was built
