The place goes to a donation of the knight Bruno v. Immeldorf from the family of the Lords of Laufamholz in 1273 back. The monastery Engelthal then bequeathed a mill in 'Genherstorf' next to property in Deutenbach.
Gerasmühle is now a popular destination. Almost like a museum village, it illustrates the development typical of the Nuremberg area from a hammer mill to an industrial estate.
