This is a real lost place. - Decades of vacancy have left their mark on all the existing buildings of the former youth college, but not so much on the Bogensee Villa. It is amazing that you can get very close and even see through from the main entrance to the back with the large, retractable glass elements!

The wild growth at the front has now really taken over, a real little jungle has developed here with birch trees and all kinds of bushes, which covers up part of the building and certainly causes additional damage.

The buildings have been vacant for over 20 years. The site, where Goebbels also had his country estate, is located near Wandlitz, but belongs to the state of Berlin. The Barnim district and the municipality want to further promote its future use. But Berlin is running out of time: Renovating and securing the land is expensive, so the city of Berlin is considering demolishing the buildings and renaturalizing the area.

The Former House or Villa by Joseph Goebbels. Here he met his sweetheart, the Czech actress Lida Baarova and spent the last weeks of the war, before he took his wife and his children in the Reich Chancellery life.
Then the building fell into Russian hands, it served as a military hospital and later the FDJ as a college.
