The refuge rightly bears its name. If you are surprised by the bad weather, you can shelter here and enjoy the view of the Brocken - if it is there - the view. The information panels "Hike Connects", little Fallstein, show the six partial routes. One of them is the Osterwiecker circuit through the southern Fallstein, which can also be used to extend the large circular route “Hiking connects”. The forest restaurant “Willeckes Lust”, the guesthouse and excursion restaurant “Fallsteinklause” and the hotel and restaurant “Waldhaus” offer refreshment opportunities.

The large circular route "Hiking connects" runs along the scenic beauties of the "Little Fallstein" between Hornburg (Lower Saxony) and Osterwieck (Saxony-Anhalt). Except for a few ascents and descents, the hiking trail almost always runs flat on mostly natural paths and paths that require a little attention. It opens up wide views to the south to the Harz, to the north to the Elm. Because of its length, you need a little stamina.
