The history of the former village of Leitenhausen is clearly explained on the board. You learn something about the history of the former place. In the course of the construction of the border strip, the Leitenhäuser were also forcibly relocated. A place of remembrance and commemoration of former GDR injustice, how could it be otherwise - right here on the column path of the former border.

On the "Der Grenzgänger" hiking trail (formerly the Kolonnenweg)
Here is the information board with pictures; the deserted settlement itself is located about 800 meters further to the southeast.
It's nice that efforts are being made to ensure that such places are not forgotten. Thank you.

Here you have arrived on the hiking trail "Der Grenzgänger", which can of course also be used for mountain biking. A sign points to this and you can read the explanation on the sign.
