Already during the Roman rule over Dalmatia the place was founded as Arausa. Vodice was first mentioned in historical documents in 1402 when the construction of the church of Sv. Križ began. The name of the town derives from the word voda for water, with which Vodice supplied the surrounding area at that time. The defensive ramparts and the Ćorić Tower (Croatian: Ćorićev toranj) from the times of the Turkish conquests testify to those bygone times.

Gap is the largest town on the peninsula. It is nice to relax in the harbor, there are terraces and restaurants. And there are nice little shops they are on the right track. But after 1.5 hours you have seen it. If you approach the harbor from land, it seems as if you are walking through a deprived area. It is a nice place to moor and view from the water. but don't go too deep into the streets because then you might be disappointed again.
