The stadium has 2,608 seats, with standing room for a total capacity of around 7,000 visitors. It was named in 2001 after the former mayor of Schwechat, Rudolf Tonn (* 1931; † 2015). The construction of the stadium became necessary due to the construction of the Ost Autobahn (A4). For this, the Schwechat river had to be relocated, which in turn was blocked by the former "Germaniastadion" in Germaniastraße, which had been the home of SV Schwechat since September 11, 1904. The stadium was built in Rannersdorf due to its proximity to ASK Antonshof.
