Dun Canna Fort is as old as 2500 years and was likely built to protect this important fishing area. From here you can also see the remains of a viking trap which was used to catch fish. This is a much later addition from the 8th century.

The track along the coast north of Dun Canna Fort is NOT rideable on a bike - it’s a challenging walk and an impossible cycle. Path very rocky and rutted, vegetation thick and there are steep drops to the sea.
