Cykling
Characteristic of the island are the beautiful historic, partly thatched sheep barns with the three roof areas typical of Texel to resist the strong westerly wind. The leeward side of the barn always reaches to the ridge of the roof and faces east. Each sheep barn has a name, which dates back to the days when there were no street names.
