Roswitha actually correct Hrotsvit von Gandersheim, (* around 935; † 973) lived in Gandersheim Abbey and wrote spiritual writings, historical poems and dramas and is considered the first German poet. She is the namesake of this city. More information de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hrotsvit
