Rossano is located a few kilometers from the coast of the Ionian Sea, on a hill surrounded by olive groves and citrus groves. The town has a long history dating back to Roman and Byzantine times, and is known in particular for the diocesan museum and the Codex, which houses the Purple Code, one of the oldest evangeliaries in the world.
