Groynes - also called kribben, höfte or stacke - are basically dams that civil and hydraulic engineering companies build for various reasons. The most well-known are probably the wooden groynes in the Baltic Sea, which consist of several individual piles that are driven into the ground horizontally to the coastline and usually extend about 40 to 80 meters into the sea.

A groyne, also known as a stack, Höft, Kribbe, Schlenge or in the Alpine region as a battle, is a dam that is usually built at right angles to the course of the beach in a sea or built from the shore to the middle of the river, which serves to protect the coast or to build a river

Vandring
You can see them everywhere and they are very important for coastal protection. Don't climb on it or walk around in between.
