On the site of today's Fontane pharmacy in Letschin stood until 1866 the childhood home of Theodor Fontane, in which his father was the owner of the pharmacy. The house fell victim to a fire.
The present pharmacy building was built shortly after the fire.

Here stood Theodor Fontane's family home, in which his father Louis Henri Fontane ran a pharmacy. Theodor Fontane himself worked in the parental pharmacy for a few years before turning to writing.

The pharmacy is closed and now probably a residential building. A sign referring to the Fontane family of pharmacists is attached to the house
