On the cycle path through the Rhine meadows towards Kehl you pass the Kehl cultural weir.
The construction of the weir began in 2006 after a German-French agreement on the use of joint hydropower was concluded, and it was put into operation in 2009. Parts of the structure are underground. The operation also serves to use the hydroelectric power plant, but flood retention takes priority.
It is suitable for a rest, as there are benches and tables.
