Pitlochry is in Perthshire, on the banks of the River Tummel. The town has around 2,500 inhabitants but in the high season this number is multiplied by the many tourists who visit it. Today Pitlochry in Scotland welcomes its guests with the Gaelic greeting "Ceud mile fàilte" - 100,000 welcome".

Busy tourist town during the summer season. Lot's of outdoor-type outlets, gift shops, and a large selection of eateries. The nearby train station facilitates hiking access.
