The Isola dei Topi, off Cavo, is a deserted rock which according to the Italian geologist and paleontologist Igino Cocchi "takes its name from the small animals of the same name, which, together with the seals of the Canal, settled there" (Geological description of the island of Elba, 1871).

Vandring
Great little island in front of northern Cavo. Above all, thousands of sea birds can be observed with good binoculars. The island appears again and again in different facets of light.
