It was either daydreaming or megalomania that drove the Polish artist Piotr Kazimierczak to build this castle. He became wealthy as a seller and restorer of church furniture. The castle was to have 365 windows, 52 rooms, and twelve towers. Construction began in 1984, but after seven years it was halted because he only had a building permit for a building one-sixth the size, and apparently, the money also ran out.

We weren't alone here; many others were also visiting.
This seems to be semi-legal. There's a paid parking lot a few hundred meters away, the gate is wide open, and there are no conspicuous prohibition signs.

The mysterious Łapalice Castle may soon gain new life! A buyer has been found and it looks like the investment work will soon begin to finally complete this extraordinary facility. 🏰✨ This is a project that is generating a lot of interest.
But be warned: The on-site parking is a real rip-off. The fees are exaggerated and the service is unpleasant.
