After the first Late Romanesque church from the 13th century had been destroyed during the Thirty Years' War, the successor building was built in 1730, which was designed as a single-nave hall construction. For the west tower one used the still existing Romanesque Bruchsteinfundament, while the bell floor was built in the half-timbered style and was completed with a Querwalmdach. The baroque interior of 1730 is still present today.
In 1989, a comprehensive church renovation, whereby the church received its present appearance. In 2008 the tower was restored. [1]
