The Siddhartha Highway connects the Terai region in southern Nepal with the mountain region in the north – from the Nepal - India border near Siddharthanagar to Pokhara. The road construction was completed in 1971. It has a length of 181 km. The Butwal - Tansen/Palpa road section consists of rocky terrain and narrow curves.
