The ‘Temple of the Winged Lions’ is a large temple complex. The construction of the temple dates back to the reign of Aretas IV Philopatris, the Nabataean king who ruled in the early 1st century. AD ruled. The temple was dedicated to the great goddess figure of the Nabataean religion, whose identity is still unclear, and was destroyed in the great earthquake of 363 AD.
