Located on top of the homonymous hill, and surrounded by an olive plantation, the church of San Giorgio in Monte is a fourteenth-century building that has the typical layout of the Friulian votive churches. It is a reference dear to many Avianese, whose youth is linked to the hill, a destination in the past for trips and outings, including the one that, in May, marked the end of the catechetical year. After a slow decline, due to continuous vandal raids, the church was restored in 2011.
