The tower was designed by architect August Kind and construction consultant Friedrich Loose. The structure has no equivalent in Poland. The 46-meter-high tower, whose basic structure consists of eight pillars on a regular octagon and a central pillar, was built in the Expressionist style. The reservoir is covered with a mansard roof, topped with a lantern. The lower section contains three usable floors, originally housing offices and apartments. Since 2017, the tower has belonged to the Coal Mining Museum.
