In the summer months you can usually climb the tower on Sundays. If peregrine falcons breed in the tower and raise their young, the tower is not accessible. A sign at the entrance indicates this.

The Waldhornturm is one of two Staufer towers in Besigheim and was built around 1220
The tower is 29 m high and its walls are 4 m in diameter at the base.
The name comes from the directly adjacent Gasthaus Waldhorn, from whose upper floor the tower used to have its access. The current entrance in the lower of the 5 tower vaults was only created after the Second World War.
