The huge dam is worth a visit in itself, and those who do can also catch a glimpse of a Prometheus statue watching over the dam from the top of Pleșa Hill, holding a lightning bolt of electricity symbolizes. Against the backdrop of the Frunţii Mountains and the Ghiţu Mountains surrounding Lake Vidraru, the ancient Titan who stole the fire from Olympus and gave it to the people in Greek mythology looks like a modern-day superhero.
