With modern technology and extravagant architecture, the Allgäuer Überlandwerk sets an extraordinary milestone for sustainable energy policy. The run-of-river power plant on the Iller not only impresses with its high efficiency, but also with its aesthetics.
During the planning phase, the AÜW attached particular importance to ensuring that the new power plant fits organically into the neighboring, listed ensemble of the former spinning and weaving mill (Rosenau) as well as into the natural area of the Iller. This resulted in a continuous, softly shaped structure that connects the two end points of the power plant house.
