The device cover, handset and connection socket were made of black bakelite. The device's bell had two bowls made of steel sheet of different thickness, thanks to which it produced a sound of two different tones. The CB-49 model was initially manufactured at Zakłady Wytwarzanie Aparatów Telefonicznych T-4 in Łódź and at Fabryka Telefonów T-9 in Radom. In 1958, the Łódź plants changed the production profile and the production of this device was taken over entirely by the Radom factory. It was manufactured until 1963.

These were created as part of the 2018 and 2022 Citizens' Budgets, along with others from private initiatives. The project was conceived by Maciej Stępnikowski and Sebastian Pawłowski, and the sculptures were created by artist Sławomir Micek.
