The former Lutheran church was completed in 1740 on the site of the Hospice of the Holy Spirit founded in 1400. The land was donated by the city council and thanks to a collection in the Lutheran churches of Amsterdam, construction could begin. The baptismal railing with the copper arches is authentic and dates from 1742. The organ was built in 1809 by Gideon Thomas Bätz from Utrecht. The building has been used by the PKN community in Edam since 2015.
