The historic town of Antequera, in the heart of Andalusia, is picturesquely situated between hills and olive groves and is considered the cultural center of the region. The town boasts a rich history, reflected in its numerous buildings – including the Alcazaba, a Moorish fortress with sweeping views over the surrounding countryside, and the baroque Real Colegiata de Santa María la Mayor church. Antequera is also particularly famous for its prehistoric dolmens, monumental burial sites that are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Beautiful Andalusian sleepy town. "Antequera is a predominantly regional, but increasingly international, tourist destination of interest to tourists, and the museums of the city contain much of the artistic treasures of the province of Málaga, making it one of Andalusia's most culturally significant centers."
