Klatring

The Buna spring is one of the strongest springs in Europe, as an average of 43,000 liters per second flow out of the massive limestone. The water is crystal clear and makes its way around nine kilometers through the Bosnian hinterland to the east. In addition to the monastery, visitors can also stop in one of the many rustic restaurants that are located on the source bank or explore the surrounding area overgrown by vineyards and cherry plantations.

The Buna, a nine-kilometer-long tributary of the Neretva, rises from the karst spring at the mouth of the cave at the foot of a 200 m high rock face.
The spring impressed a Turkish sultan so much that he had a dervish monastery built there in the 18th century. The three-story stone building is located on the right bank of the source lake, a wide bay window towers over the lake so that you can reflect yourself in the water. The lake is bordered by a 2 m high, horseshoe-shaped waterfall, which flows into the 10 m wide river.
