The Tila Nadi Valley is the highest rice-growing region in the world. Here rice is planted up to an altitude of 3,050 m. Jumli Marshi, a native rice variety with a cold-tolerant gene, has probably been grown on the banks of the Tila Nadi River for 550 years.
