Konau is a small village in the municipality Amt Neuhaus. It is located on the eastern bank of the Elbe in the shelter of a high dike. Konau lies in the beautiful Elbtalaue and belongs with the Vordeichgelände to the biosphere reserve. Here are still the Lower Saxon farmhouses and farmsteads lined up on the Elbe dike as ever for centuries.

The courtyard with its thatched Niedersachsen houses, with their typical Durchfahrtsscheunen, Goöpeln and stables are restored in accordance with monument protection.

Konau is a picturesque village in the municipality of Amt Neuhaus an der Elbe. Its history is long and eventful. It is the only completely preserved Marschhufendorf on the Elbe. The renovated historic village complex houses numerous museum barns that tell of country life and the life of the Konau people with the border.
