This fountain, which was built in 1855, is, like the dolphin fountain behind the New Palace, in the classicist style, but only partially reflects this in its current form. The lion's head on the head side was originally complemented by a nymph's head. Also no longer there are the twelve frog figures that gave the fountain its name; they served as an additional water source and completed the composition of mythological and natural motifs. Today, nine functional water sources have been placed in this place, arranged in a semicircle opposite the lion's head.

Vandring

The Frog Pond is a semi-circular basin fed by small frog fountains on the edge.
Next to it is the stone table. It comes from the Lustgarten, the count's baroque garden north of the Rosental, which was built over piece by piece from 1825 and which today is only remembered by the name of the dilapidated multi-storey car park.
