Built in 2000 in wood and stone, the San Giovanni Bridge took the place of the famous “Ponte Vecchio”, destroyed in 1944 by the bombings of the Second World War.

It is one of the first places you see while arriving in Perugia. Also ideal for a stop and a few photos. And then it is nice to see that the Tiber passes from there and to imagine its path to Rome. :)

Ponte San Giovanni is a fraction of the municipality of Perugia. Its qualification as a "neighborhood" of the city of Perugia is debated for reasons not only of urban geography but also of historical-cultural reasons.
