This cycle route is very different from the one that runs along the Minho River: the surface is not paved, but gravel and, in some short sections, a bit rocky and muddy.
I rode it in August and found it to be very uncrowded. The fact that it is not particularly well maintained gives you the opportunity to enjoy a more authentic natural environment.

The Lima River Ecovia is an extensive pedestrian and cycling route that follows the banks of the Lima River in Alto Minho, Portugal. Stretching for approximately 70 kilometers, the ecovia crosses the municipalities of Viana do Castelo, Ponte de Lima, Ponte da Barca, and Arcos de Valdevez, offering scenic landscapes and a mostly flat route.
