Santa Barbara is located on the slopes of Mount Gelbison (1.705m a.s.l.), in the center of Cilento and its national park, 3 km south of Ceraso, on the provincial road that leads from Vallo della Lucania to Ascea and Velia, passing through the Ascitan hamlets of Mandia, Catona and Terradura. It has a small district called Isca, located on the confluence of the Bruca torrent and the Mandia torrent which gives rise to the Fiumarella.
