Vandring

The ensemble of the former Pauline Monastery with the Assumption Church is worth a visit. Here was the important miniature painter Juraj Julije Klović (1498-1578), who made his career in Italy as Giulio Clovio, his first education. A small documentation center in the freely accessible passage of the monastery reminds of him. Today the hotel Kaštel is located in the monastery rooms.

Mountainbiking

The town got its name after the church of the Pauline monastery, which was built in 1412. This church was donated to the Pauline Order by Prince Nikola Frankopan IV. The corresponding deed of donation is the first document in which Crikvenica was mentioned by name. In the same place, at the mouth of the Dubracina River, there is now the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. [kroatieninfo-privat.de]
