Bronze Age burial mounds are still visible witnesses from a time more than 3000 years ago, the king's grave and the Ruchower burial mound cannot be overlooked. In 1821, excavations documented richly furnished graves from the older Bronze Age as well as subsequent burials that were not created until the younger Bronze Age.

A burial mound that is visible from afar, also from the Early Bronze Age (1800-1300 BC).
The graves contain the mortal remains of one or more people. In the Early Bronze Age, the dead were buried unburned in hollowed-out oak trunks that had been split lengthwise. In the Late Bronze Age, the transition to cremation followed.
The distribution of the burial mounds suggests that they were often built on the edge of a settlement area and served to make the boundaries of territories visible.
