“Am Unkenbaum” is a popular resting place and the first “resting point” on the Rheingauer Klostersteig.
The toad tree has now been felled and lies on the side of the path and has lost almost all of its bark over the years, replacing it with moss. A look into the trunk reveals why the tree that gave the trail its name had to be felled.
