Beautiful city surrounded by imposing walls in perfect condition that completely enclose the historic center. Very well maintained by the local administration and it was not for nothing that it was awarded the most beautiful Borgo dei Borghi in Italy in 2022! Here the Soave wine is the master between cellars, wineries, taverns, etc. Not to be missed…

The white wine of the same name, Soave, is named after the city. The place is said to have been founded around 500 AD by a Suebi tribe, from which the place name derives. The area had already been populated during Roman times and was located on the important Roman road Via Postumia. The castle was first mentioned in documents in the 10th century. It belonged to the Sanbonifacio from Verona and became the property of the Scaligers in the 13th century. In the period that followed, Soave and its castle changed hands several times.
