Road through the valley of the river Branica. The road is in good condition (6/10). The advantage is beautiful nature and above all very little traffic. If you go from the direction of Branik and continue towards the Karst (Kobdilj, Štanjel, Komen, Sežana), turn right and continue the path. The slope towards Kobdili is less steep than from Branik towards Štanel along the main road, so this variant is more suitable if we have travel bags on bicycles.

As soon as you leave Branik (Rifembergo) in the direction of Štanjel (San Daniele del Carso), follow the signs for Smarje and Branica. The road, very beautiful, runs along the Banica watercourse through orchards, vineyards and fields up to Kodreti.

Landevejscykling

This segment is the best way to avoid the main road. Almost no traffic, part in the woods, beautiful views. Even the road that then leads to Kobdilij is not overly busy and the ascent is gentler than on the main road. The only "mistake" of the section is that it passes Štanjel, which is worth visiting. It only takes a little twist :-)
