Another supposed center of Europe is not so far from here. And which one is the real one now? This cannot be said exactly, since there are apparently different approaches to calculating this point. This is based on calculations made during the time of the imperial-royal monarchy in the 19th and 20th centuries. A memorial stone marks the point, but somehow it doesn't matter where the center of Europe is. At least when there are so many cool trails all around, like here!

The center of Europe on the Tillenberg is the center of Europe on the Tillenberg calculated in the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In addition to its primary function as an important survey point, the stone developed before World War II, together with the Tillenschutzhaus, built in 1926, to a popular destination for hikers from across the border. Over time, the stone came to his symbolic power as the center of Europe. Exact computational, and metering-wise statements can not confirm this. The historical connections are probably decisive for the fact that the Tillenberg has retained the attribute "center of Europe" up to the present time.
