The three-wing building in the German Renaissance style was constructed from 1905 to 1906 under the direction of Ludwig Bopp, a representative of the Munich School. The central building, which houses the council chamber, was constructed of local dolomite limestone. It features a columned portal, two gables, and a high hipped roof with a viewing lantern. A wing in the Bergisch style with a half-timbered upper floor and a simple, southern German-influenced plastered building were added to the sides. This building is decorated with a sundial and a mural depicting a view of the city from around 1800.

Here in the pedestrian zone you can enjoy delicious ice cream or stroll through the city, but as a cyclist you should push your bike (the OA also checks frequently here)
