Komoot guided me from Pico Ruivo to Boa Ventura. The tunnel was what worried me the most when I was planning.
About the tunnel:
The pictures are a bit misleading, the tunnel isn't that low. At 1.92m tall, I had to walk bent over most of the time, but at 1.75m tall, it would be an easy walk. You can see the light from the other side the whole time, which makes it a bit more pleasant. The first 300m from the tunnel are the most difficult. If you can manage that, you can manage the rest.

At the junction of the Levada do Cladeirao Verde (after the short tunnel) you have to look for the way into the valley to the Levada dos Tornos (little traffic, many trees are across) using a Komoot map and the GPS signal. Easy to walk with mountain boots. The tunnel is long but also good and quick to walk.

The path was perfectly walkable in early 2026. It's clear that it's not a GR route; there are quite a few trees across the path, but otherwise it's not dangerous and easily passable. The route is also clear; there was no need to search for the path.
