At the lowest point of the rapid descent from Bechen down into the valley, you cross the Osbach. This is where the ascent to Richerzhagen starts. You will reach your own low point in the following 750 meters if you are not in good shape. The ramp, which has an average gradient of 8.5 percent, is no longer. The gently rolling, almost treeless pasture landscape and the asphalt, which looks almost white in the sunshine, make this col at the foot of the Great Dhünntalsperre a real highlight in the region.

Great down and up. Very good asphalt. Zero traffic, just a lost Mofar now and then. Actually, I don't drive the Kölner Straße anymore since I found this route. After all, you drive to the Bergisches Land because of the climbs, not to compete with cars 😉
